Rose garden and a collection of magnolias

The nearest to the guesthouse, created in a form of a long rectangle right next to main parkway. There is a lane of tall trees at the back of the quarter. It includes maple, sycamore maple, northern red oak and chestnuts creating a northern background and protection for more delicate plants. In front of them there are singular English walnuts in a couple of varieties that came from forest nursery of Bogusław Dudek from Andrychowo. Under their cover thirty types of magnolia in various shapes and colours of their flowers were planted. Most of them come from forest nursery of Stanisław Zymon from Tłokinia Wielka. Worthy of your attention is a specimen of umbrella magnolia, decorative not because of its flowers but because of giant leaves.

Magnolias are being accompanied by other shrubs like almond, smoke tree, various kinds of red elderberry as well as a couple of types of rowan from forest nursery of Szczepan Walkiewicz from Nowa Wieś near Pobiedziska. Additionally the place has decorative apple trees from Kórnik forest nurseries. Closest to the parkway, next to a row of stone benches separated with trellises, a rose garden is present consisting of seven squares. In each of the squares grow roses of different shapes and sizes but similar colour. Squares have been divided into triangles and they have been planted with varieties depending on their height ­ the tallest in the back, medium at the center and low at the very front. Park roses, baby roses, cover roses, groundling roses grow in every noggin ­ noggins have been separated with patches of polyanthus.

Roses ­ together several dozen, they come from the mentioned before forest nursery of Szczepan Walkiewicz as well as some from the forest nursery of Robert Duda from Gowarzewo. These are both new species and very old ones including famous English park roses lineages of which extend to a couple of centuries. A couple of species of vine rose have been planted on hammered trellises including some that are famous because of their intense smell.
